Siemens Ready
Siemens Enterprise Networks engaged Scientific
Capital Corporation to test its Alarm Monitoring System (AMS),
using a methodology and test bed developed by Siemens. The goal
of testing was to evaluate how well the AMS integrated with
the HiPath 4000™ PBX system and its capability to generate
REAL TIME call records transmitted to the AMS. Testing was
completed using the AMS software Version 3.0. The HiPath 4000™ family
The HiPath 4000™ family
is the industry's only IP convergence platform that supports all
three network environments: circuit switched,
packet switched and mixed. This results is a comprehensive evolution
strategy for IP that delivers the best investment protection for
enterprise businesses. The HiPath 4000™ combines the benefits
of IP networking with the rich features, applications and availability
of a circuit-switched system. The HiPath 4000™ family delivers
the ability to extend survivable access points across an enterprise
IP network to operate as one system and support local trunking at
the remote location. The HiPath 4000™ family, large enterprise
system, maintains quality, reliability and features, while leveraging
the enterprise IP LAN/WAN infrastructure, when and where it makes
sense for an enterprise business. The HiPath 4000™ is a modular,
chassis-based IP PBX that leverages IP transport to support 2,000
users and serve up to 40 distributed
access points at remote locations. A strength of the HiPath 4000™ is
its broad station device support, including wireless sets and several
soft phone/telephony
applications, including the OptiPoint family of instruments, OptiClient
130™, OptiClient Attendant™, and the Web based Client
Assistant. Siemens provided the HiPath 4000™ for testing.
Based on a series of tests conducted by Scientific Capital Corporation
and Siemens
personnel, the AMS suite of products proved itself a steady
performer offering the correction industry a quality telephone
alarm reporting system. We conducted a series of tests including
real time
call record reliability and the ability for the AMS to properly
analyze and sense each call record for alarm information. The AMS system tested offers a strong features set, incorporating
not only sensing for alarms, but a Watch Call Ring Reporting package
as well as a Call Record Management System (CRMS©) database
for common user telephone extensions management. The Alarm Monitoring
System, integrated with the Siemens HiPath 4000™,
fully meets the expectations and requirements of the correction
industry for which it was designed and Scientific Capital Corporation
is hereby
certified as a Siemens Ready Partner.
